About the Author
Kevin Glynn, MD, is a senior physician with Scripps Health in La Jolla, California, where he also
served as chief of pulmonary medicine and medical director of respiratory care at Scripps Mercy
Hospital. His thirty years of treating respiratory disorders combined with his personal experience
as an asthma sufferer uniquely qualify him to tell the story of breathing. The former editor of the
San Diego Physician, and widely published in nationally circulated journals, Dr. Glynn was also
recognized for his contributions as a bedside teacher, receiving the Award for Sustained
Excellence in Teaching at Scripps Mercy – and it is this ability as a teacher that renders his
writing so compelling.
A cartoonist who drew gags for the San Diego County Medical Society magazine and self-
syndicated them to other journals, after retirement it came down to resuming cartooning or writing
a book. With so much to share, Dr. Glynn decided to write. Dr. Glynn lives in La Jolla with his
wife. When not writing, playing golf, or participating in community projects through Rotary
International, he spends his time cheering on his grandchildren at their soccer games.
About the Book
Comprehensive, easily understood, and eminently readable, Kevin Glynn, MD’s GASPING FOR
AIR provides readers with an understanding of the evolution of pulmonary health – the threats to
it, what we can do to avoid those threats, and the progress science has made in ensuring that in
our ever more mobile, ever more polluted world, we do not end up GASPING FOR AIR.
GASPING FOR AIR is available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
