Bennett is the former Co-Chair of the California Bar Cyberspace Committee and has played a leading role in shaping Internet law and policy having testified and lobbied on Internet issues in Washington and Sacramento and leading the effort to develop a cyberspace primer for incoming state lawmakers.

Most recently, he was one of three private sector lawyers selected by the U.S. Department of Commerce to be part of a U.S. delegation to China, sent to explain our nation’s Internet laws.

He represents a diverse client base that includes startups and public companies both online and offline across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia on issues ranging from online marketing, e-commerce and privacy, to domain names and cyber harassment. He has been described as one of the top Internet attorneys by industry columnists.

He is an advocate for greater awareness on issues of Cyber Harassment and Cyber Security and recently launched the Hack Exchange 2012 at, which seeks to visually depict the scope of hacking and cyber attack events for the year to date.

The Internet Law Center’s newsletter, Cyber Report, was named one of the top 100 Internet law resources and was named top newsletter at the 2011 Los Angeles Press Club Awards.
