And we have uncovered the uber-Right billionaires funding the operation. Our 2016 film The Best Democracy Money Can Buy, successfully investigated, busted and terminated the vicious racial voter purge program “Crosscheck.” Now, we’re doing it again. In Vigilantes: Georgia’s Vote Suppression Hitmen, we are about to break our most important investigative story ever, exposing the new, and well hidden, “Vigilante” voter law that has allowed one GOP politico to personally challenge 4,000 voters, another to challenge 32,000 and hundreds of thousands altogether. While we are close, very close to releasing this film – we need you to make sure this exposé blows a hole in this suppression scheme before the midterm elections. These vigilantes’ scheme is to block enough ballots to stop Senator Warnock’s re-election—and defeat Stacey Abrams re-run for Governor. It is not our work to pick Georgia’s Senator or Governor. But it is our work to expose the truly devious, racially poisonous program to deny voters their choice. In 2020, the Palast Investigative Team busted Georgia’s illegal removal of 198,000 voters…including kicking Martin Luther King’s 92-year old cousin from the polls.   Our investigation moved on several fronts, including providing expert reports to the ACLU of Georgia and Black Voters Matter in Wisconsin, providing expert testimony in federal suits brought by RainbowPUSH and the NAACP, and releasing, with the DiCaprio family, a series of film reports—covered in the New York Times and on Democracy Now! Georgia’s voters in the 2020 election and in the Senate run-off pulled off a shocker—but only because vote suppression tricks were exposed and busted.  We plan to do no less this time. This battle is national.  I concentrate on Georgia because that is where the vigilante hitmen are most desperate—and where the ultra-right takes its ballot box trickery for a test drive.
