Boca Raton FL. Nov. 3, 2015 – Bruce Gipson and Lee McGregor safely and successfully broke Bruce’s 31 year-old record crossing from Bimini, Bahamas to Hallandale Beach, Florida in 8:07:59 shattering Bruce’s old record at 11:56:00.

Bruce first made the crossing when he was 30 years old and on November 1st, 2015 Lee Mc Gregor and Bruce Gipson went 50 miles from Bimini to South Florida and set a new human-powered speed record. In addition to breaking this record, Gipson and McGregor are donating all money raised to the Wounded Warriors of South Florida (www.wwofsf.org) which provides assistance to disabled veterans.

Though both men are now retired, their records precede them. There have been several failed attempts to break Bruce’s record since he set it back in 1984. On Nov. 1st, 2015, both men had their minds and vigor set on achieving what they set out to do and they crossed triumphantly.
