THE KINSEY SICKS, one of America’s Favorite Dragapella Beautyshop Quartet, has hit the campaign trail, and Wichita is their next stop.
Visiting Wichita for the very first time, the Kinsey Sicks will appear at 7 p.m., Friday Sept. 21 at Century II’s Mary Jane Teall Theater to present their latest tour, the timely Electile Dysfunction: The Kinsey Sicks for President.
Tickets are on sale now by calling (316) 219-4TIX (4849) or online at www.WichitaTIX.com. Tickets are $28 and $38. A special $48 ticket includes admission to an after-party with the performers at Rain Café & Lounge, 518 E. Douglas.
The concert is a fundraising effort for First Metropolitan Community Church. Presented in part by the Liberty Press, proceeds will go toward a new building for the church’s food pantry, Loaves & Fishes.
In Electile Dysfunction: The Kinsey Sicks for President, the Dragapella® divas present their views on pressing political issues such as education, immigration, unemployment, scandal and corruption – and all in glorious four-part harmony.
Their original songs and brilliant re-imaginings of classics include such numbers as “Sell the Poor,” “Eliminate the Schools,” and their campaign anthem, “Vote for Me (I’m Not From Kenya).”
THE KINSEY SICKS have been combining razor-sharp political satire with brilliant musicianship for eighteen years. They have performed Off-Broadway, done an extended run in Las Vegas, and tour full time worldwide.
Combining rich, four-part harmony, biting satire and over-the-top drag, THE KINSEY SICKS have performed in 41 states, Mexico, Canada, Europe and Australia.
They starred in their own Off-Broadway show at New York’s Studio 54 and are the subject of two feature films.
A special rate at the Hotel at WaterWalk is available. Call (316) 263-1061 for reservations.
