THE SALSA KING OF SCARSDALE
Ben Fine

Ira Brodsky is a successful OB-GYN, with a house and family in Westchester and a Park
Avenue practice. Ira though is dissatisfied; dissatisfied with his wife, his children and his life in
general. Despite his success he is still the nerd he was in high school and beginning mid-life
crisis he now looks like a overweight Sigmund Freud. An affair with hot X-ray technician Inez
Rodriguez sets Ira on a path to turn everything upside down and become the salsa king of
Scarsdale.
The Salsa King of Scarsdale tells the half-comic, half-tragic story of Ira Brodsky’s
transformation from successful gynecologist and wealthy suburban family man to the salsa
king of Scarsdale; a man who spends his evenings at the Audubon ballroom.
