Guy K. Mitchell, Jr. was born in a small town in Alabama in 1948. He was educated in the public school systems in Birmingham, AL, and attended the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked in various positions in his career, including as a shift foreman in a coal-fired power plant, a plant superintendent in a steel mill, a general manager of a construction materials company in Saudi Arabia and Senior-Vice President of a Fortune 500 company.
