Epic Sci-fi SECOND SKIN Series
There’s good news for fans of the world-spanning science-fiction series SECOND SKIN by Peter
Darrach: TAVERN ON THE EDGE OF TIME, the third installment in the ongoing epic, has been
released, to critical acclaim. Like the first two books in the series, SECOND SKIN and SECOND SKIN
TOO, TAVERN ON THE EDGE OF TIME is a page-turner that will appeal to science-fiction fans as
well as readers who like to escape into a vividly-drawn fantasy world full of adventure and intrigue.
In SECOND SKIN, Darrach traveled forward to the year 2125 A.D., a tumultuous period in which
mankind has permanently populated Mars and is harvesting the metallic riches of the asteroid belt. As
Mars gains economic might, Earth’s mining industry increasingly goes in the opposite direction. When
Darrach’s hero, Max Cody, is wounded while preparing an asteroid for mining, he is “repaired” by
aliens from another continuum and finds he has gained exotic capabilities from the procedure. He uses
his new powers against renegade ice pirates who threaten the new Martian Republic. He also starts a
budding relationship with navigator and colleague Elaine Zhou.
SECOND SKIN’s sequel, SECOND SKIN TOO, continued the action as Earth grew weary of Mars’s
economic might and threatened a war to gain access to the mineral wealth of the asteroid belt as well as
Mars’s promising teleportation technology.
TAVERN ON THE EDGE OF TIME thrusts Max and Elaine into further adventures, including
encounters with aliens that are entering the Earth-Mars continuum through the Tavern on the Edge of
Time, threatening Earth and Mars.

The SECOND SKIN series is Darrach’s first venture into fiction. He chose to write science-fiction
because, he says, he grew up reading the genre, “got this wild idea and ran with it. There is value
in simply parking your daily cares and worries and heading off into deep space for some adventure
delivered with a bit of humor and a lot of emotional involvement with a vast array of characters.”
And Darrach promises there will be more SECOND SKIN tales coming.

About the Author
Peter Darrach has lived in New York, London, Prague, Munich and Vienna. He holds a Bachelor
of Arts degree in English Literature and a Master of Arts degree in German Literature, both
from Pennsylvania State University. Darrach pursued a career in sales and marketing in fields as
diverse as amusement parks and retail before moving to Europe in 1991. Since then he has worked
in Eastern and Western Europe, holding a series of executive positions with blue chip FMCG
companies. Most recently he has returned to the U.S. to pursue his career as a business coach and
