Joan Del Monte was a featured author in a Museum of Contemporary Art show in Washington, D. C. in September 2007. She wrote an antiques bibliography for the Los Angeles Public Library and taught writing the mystery novel, “A Guide To The Pitfalls From Someone Who
fell Into Most of Them,” at UCLA and California State colleges. Mysteries in print: PLONK GOES THE WEASEL, set in the redwoods of Humboldt County, California; DEATH HAD A YELLOW THUMB, smuggling saffron into the great port of San Pedro, California; and MUD BLOOD-murder in the Sacramento Delta, which was a finalist in the national 2009 Eric Hoffer Book Award.

Joan has a BS from Columbia University and an MA from UCLA.

She is a frequent public speaker on her books and the writer’s life. She lives on a canal in Venice, California.
