Sergio Sanchez joined KURV in December 1995 as co-news anchor for “The Valley’s Morning News”. Between 1998 and 1999 Sergio worked as KURV News Director and recently served as interim Program Director.
While at KURV, Sergio has received numerous awards from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters including Best Reporter, Best Spot News by a Reporter, Best News Anchor, Best Investigative Report and Best Newscast.
In 2009 he also won Best Radio Commentary in all of Texas from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters.
Sergio is an advocate for charter schools in the Valley and is a supporter of Idea Public Schools. He is also a local coordinator for Operation Christmas Child, a yearly international benevolence ministry that sends gifts to needy children around the world.
