The Lady of the Canyon: Chilling, Thought-Provoking Novel Proves Danger of Societal Complacency. How Easily Can Crime Go Unseen…?

Masterfully crafted by Gerald Grantham, ‘The Lady of the Canyon’ throws readers into the thick fog of a narrow rural canyon, as one man’s journey to finally start his retirement could be about to open the doors to the dark side of humanity. While a gripping book of fiction, Grantham’s narrative comes with a bold message for the real-world; that when the public becomes complacent and unaware, even the most vicious of crimes can go undetected, right under their noses.

For Immediate Release

Magalia, CA– While most authors use their first few novels to do nothing but simply test the literary waters, Gerald W. Grantham is proof that it’s easily possible to compete with the bestsellers. Grantham hit the scene in 2014 with ‘Redemption for a Lonely Man’ and, after much success, is now back with ‘The Lady of the Canyon’.

Making up volume one of ‘The Jonas Valley Saga’, this blistering and cinematic new release boldly proves that turning a blind eye to crime is…well…deadly.

Synopsis:

A late foggy night… Not a good start to his retirement, he is already tired from driving all day in impenetrable fog. Four hundred miles creeping along jammed roads, guided by radar equipped Highway Patrol cars. Finally, he is on a two lane country road passing through a narrow canyon, a last winding step to his new home.

Suddenly she is there, caught in his light beam, standing in the middle of the road. He stops, stunned by her appearance in the middle of the night… She beckons to him, then disappears into some trees. Then she is gone. Who did he see in the Canyon?

“The key problem for our protagonist is that his new rural Police Department is so tied up and involved with sorting out petty crime, that the bigger picture large-scale crimes are going unnoticed,” explains Grantham. “This is actually a real-world epidemic across our country and, in what is the only book of its kind on the market, readers are more than about to find out why.”

Continuing, “But, rural settings aside, the novel also examines the danger of the general public becoming complacent and allowing crimes to take place without detection. This mindset and attitude allows things to creep up on us, effect is in detrimental ways and force us into a corner where we can’t do anything about it. I’m sure it’s going to keep a few lights on well into the night – and I hope it gives my readers plenty to think about in their own lives!”

With the volume’s demand expected to rapidly increase, interested readers are urged to secure their copies as soon as possible.

He began to write after moving to a small mountain community in the north of the state where the ridges and valleys, the towns and characters have been the inspiration for his stories. In his travels, he has come upon accounts of roaming spirits, usually out to revenge a wrong. The Lady of the Canyon pays homage to these tales, and the people who believe in them. The Author respects the sincerity of their beliefs, something science is hard pressed to disprove.
