The recent election has brought out protests and tantrums of the greatest magnitude but the latest hissy fit comes from California with the request to form its own country. There is a movement that has been started for the succession of California from the United States of America and I’m sure you’ve seen the #calexit hashtag everywhere since the election results a few weeks ago.
Supporters of California’s plan to secede from the union took the first step on Monday but submitting a proposed ballot measure to the state attorney general’s office with the hopes of a statewide vote as early as 2018. Apparently this is a real thing and could legitimately happen but should they be allowed to just because they didn’t get their way this past election?
* What are the chances of California becoming their own country?
* If the ballot is passed and the statewide vote is in favor of this, how quickly would it happen?
* What does the succession of a state entail?
* What does the recent election mean for news media as it has shown a real bias in a profession that is supposed to be unbiased?
