Final Thoughts

The principles of emotional survival and proactive wellness strategies described in “Bulletproof Spirit” are just as useful and meaningful not only for first responders and their families, but for any person who suffers from debilitating stress or past trauma. Acute stress and trauma inflicts similar pain and damage to one’s spirit whether it is the result of being a violent crime victim, one who has suffered tragedy or loss in their lives, or those who sacrifice a part of themselves to protect and give life to others. It is those survival and healing methods to protect, heal, and nurture the spirit that can renew hope, inspire, sustain life, and create wellness.
