Bahamas Relief Effort Under Way

As Hurricane Dorian continues along its destructive path through the Bahamas and on its way to Florida, relief efforts are underway.

The Bahamas is made up of over 700 islands and Cays. (Pronounced Keys). The Abaco Islands that sit about 180 miles east of south Florida have especially been hit hard.

Island Outreach Missions to the Bahamas has launched humanitarian aide efforts.

New Smyrna Beach, Florida resident Randy Crowe founded the organization. Crowe is the former pastor of New Life Bible Church on Man-O-War Cay where he served for 12-years.

“I will be flying down this weekend or as soon as the water recedes from the Marsh Harbor airport,” Crowe said. “We have been purchasing tarps, chainsaws, batteries, and many other supplies to take this first trip.”

Crowe will soon organize teams of people to fly down and help rebuild, and clean up.

“Our efforts will focus on Marsh Harbor and Man-O-War Cay,” Crowe said. “There will be many trips. The first priority is to secure the houses and roofs and clear roadways while making sure everyone has food and water.”

Island Outreach Missions is a 501-C3, tax exempt organization. All donations are fully tax deductible.
