ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Matthew Tree is a critically-acclaimed, award-winning author of over a dozen books. He has written for an English language television station in Catalonia, has been a regular guest on television and radio programs, and has penned numerous newspaper and magazine articles. His books have been published in English, Spanish, and Catalan.

In 1999, Matthew won the Andromina Award for Ella ve quan vol, a collection of short stories in Catalan which went into a second edition. For English speakers in Barcelona, his name may ring a bell as the restaurant reviewer in Barcelona Metropolitan. He is also heavily featured in the Barcelona Time Out City Guide. In addition, Matthew has worked as a journalist for The Times, several London-based anarchist magazines and two Catalan newspapers.

Born in London, Matthew has held a variety of jobs that make his writing authentic: yard sweeper, bus clerk, distributor of leaflets, translator, voiceover actor, English teacher, building site cleaner, poster shop assistant, and anarchist bookstore clerk. Before he emigrated to Barcelona 40 years ago, he taught himself Catalan. He currently lives between Barcelona and the lakeside town of Banyoles.
