According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in the United States, men on average die five years earlier than women and at higher rates from three leading causes of death—heart disease, cancer, and unintentional injuries. Additionally, nearly 15 percent of men aged 18 and over are in fair or poor health.

This year, in support of Men’s Health Month, the HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH) will focus on promoting the Six Plays for Men’s Health to remind men and boys that they can improve their health by seeking medical advice and taking other important steps, such as making healthy food choices, staying active, quitting smoking, getting regular checkups, taking care of their mental health, and being #VaccineReady—which includes getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Anyone can text their zip code to 438829 to get vaccination locations near them. On June 18, OMH will join the Men’s Health Network to celebrate Wear Blue Day as part of the year-round Wear BLUE awareness campaign to raise awareness for education about men’s health.

BIO: Spanning a 40+ year career as a practicing clinical pharmacist, he is an advocate for better health services and resources to enhance the health of boys and men. He has held faculty appointments at both Columbia University and Belmont University and has authored over seventy peer reviewed and general media articles in healthcare and health policy.

In 2008, Bob founded Total Life Impact Ministries, Inc. and serves as Founder/Chairman. Whether through Men’s Conferences, Marriage Conferences, Wild Game Dinners, worship services, or workplace ministries, Bob challenges people from all around the world to Live a Life that Matters.  Bob has also spoken for pregnancy resource centers across the nation who daily fight to protect LIFE , resulting in gifts exceeding seven figures cumulatively.Bob’s previous roles include nine years as the founding president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) North American Mission Board, overseeing 5000+ missionaries, one of the top three disaster relief entities in the country and a radio/TV network. During those years and working with state convention partners, the FEMA-trained volunteers grew from 13,000 to over 52,000 and donations rose from $2 million to over $24 million. Additionally, 14,350 churches were started in the United States, its territories and Canada. During several of those years, Bob hosted a national radio show called Strength for Living.

Dr. Reccord has authored nine books which include Beneath the Surface, Forged by Fire, Made to Count, t A Heart For Adventure (available in E-Book) and his latest, Ending the Cycle of Father Wounds: Hope for Healing, and Preventing Infections Caused by Relational Wounds 

Bob is an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and is one of Christian Sportsman’s Fellowship’s Master Sportsmen writing regularly for their Christian Sportsman’s Magazine. Whether as a pastor, businessman, husband or father, Bob has dedicated his life to helping people discover their calling and to effectively develop and exercise their passion for God and His mission to change the world.

Sandra Mae Lee has been writing all of her life.  During her junior year at Skidmore College, Ms. Lee won a Mademoiselle Magazine fiction contest and then represented the college as a campus reporter for Mademoiselle.  Sandra served as editor of school newspapers and yearbooks. She wrote lyrics for dozens of songs, some of which were recorded on Columbia, RCA Victor and Laurie Records. She received her BA in English from Skidmore College and her Masters in Visual and Performing Arts. She studied acting at The Actor’s Institute in New York City. She created, produced and hosted over four hundred television programs which aired to an audience of over a million viewers. Sandra taught English, Theater, Public Speaking, Acting, Film and Creative Writing. Most recently, in Ohio, she was the publisher and editor of The Women’s Journal.
