Jim Burroughs/BIO
Jim Burroughs, director, producer and cinematographer, has filmed on six continents, documenting wars, expeditions and historical events. He received an Academy Award nomination for his documentary Cuban Odyssey and received an Academy Award of Special Merit for La Belle Epoque. Having produced for PBS, ABC, A&E and Channel 4 UK, his documentary directing credits include Child in the Wind, Cuba in the Shadow of Doubt, Man-Eaters of Tsavo and Quest for the Ark. On his 26-part series Quest: Origins of our Beliefs, he traveled the globe studying various cultures and belief systems. His most recent documentary – Water Wars – focused on critical water issues facing humanity in various parts of the world.
A music composer and writer as well, Jim just completed his first non-fiction book Blood on the Lens, about the making of the feature documentary Shadow of Afghanistan. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Cinema.
Prior to his move to California in 1989, Jim lived in Maryland, Washington D.C. and New York. Jim is married with five children and resides in Topanga, outside of Los Angeles, CA.

Shephal K. Doshi, M.D, F.A.C.C./BIO
Dr. Shephal Doshi practices Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) and management of arrhythmias. He specializes in interventional therapies for arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia.
Born in Chicago and growing up in Southern California, he attended college at the University of California, Riverside. He received his Cardiac EP training at the Massachusetts General Hospital and served as clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School. He joined the Pacific Heart Institute in 2004 and soon became the Director of Cardiac EP and Pacing at Providence, Saint John’s Health Center.
Dr. Doshi remains active in cutting edge ablation research involving different forms of ablation energy including laser, cryo, and radiofrequency. He has been a principal investigator (PI) in studies involving balloon and contact force sensing ablation for atrial fibrillation.
Currently he remains one of the national PIs and leading experts in alternative therapies to the blood thinner warfarin in patients with atrial fibrillation to reduce their risk of stroke. He is one of the most experienced implanters worldwide of the FDA-approved WATCHMAN™ Left Atrial Appendage Closure Device.
He remains active in publishing and has co-authored many articles in peer-reviewed cardiac and EP journals. Dr. Doshi is also one of a handful of regional experts with epicardial mapping and ablation. He travels internationally lecturing and continues to be involved in clinical research and procedures in Europe & Asia.
Cardiac electrophysiology is not his only passion, however. He remains an avid, lifelong LA Lakers fan and loves beach sports, live music and football.
