Guest Available: Trump Says Summit With North Korea ‘May not work out’ For June 12

“President Trump cast doubt Tuesday on his planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un next month, saying “maybe it will happen later.”
“It may not work out for June 12th,” Mr. Trump told reporters during an Oval Office meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in. “If it doesn’t happen, maybe it will happen later. We’ll soon know.”

Mr. Trump said that he believes Mr. Kim is still serious about giving up his nuclear weapons, despite North Korea’s threats last week to pull out of the scheduled summit in Singapore.

He said the North Korean leader “will be extremely happy” if they do manage to reach a deal on denuclearization.

“South Korea, China and Japan — they will be willing to help … to make North Korea great,” Mr. Trump said.”
