Time Magazine’s 2016 Person of the Year is DONALD TRUMP!
Time Magazine named Donald Trump as Person of the Year for their 2016 cover.
Responding to their decision is Attorney/author Andrew Schatkin, who is available for Talk Show interviews on this topic and has made the following statement:
I submit this response to the Time Magazine cover on President Trump as the man of the year. I find the article misleading and disturbing.
There is an initial statement that Mr. Trump never spent a day in public. President Kennedy obtained pubic office largely based on his wealth. I am not aware of any other factors supporting him.
Mr. Trump is referred to as uncivil and racist, sexist and nativist. The fact that he states that persons illegally here with conviction records should be subject to deportation is not racism not is his position to limit Muslim immigration after numerous internal attacks most recently in Ohio but also in NY, Boston, Fla; Calif. Minnesota and in Europe in France, Belgium, Germany and worldwide is hardly racism but a reasonable security measure.
I see no nativism but in fact the President is attempting to provide and preserve jobs for all races and classes. This is hardly racist or nativist but it is the heart of liberalism, equal opportunity, and jobs for all in need. He is called a nationalist and populist. If this means he is attempting to represent and address the concerns and needs of the people of this democratic society based on one man or woman and one vote, then he is no more than a true Democrat who does not adhere or reach the conclusion that the wealthy and educated are only worthy knowing and worthwhile.
I am a Lutheran Christian and must remind the author of this article that Jesus was accused or associating with publicans and sinners and it was asked of him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” and meaning can anything good come out of this social and economic backwater that for this writer Trump is not sufficiently cosmopolitan and elite enough to be pro-abortion when indeed Trump is not anti-women. He places value on all whether old, disabled, dying, including the innocent unborn.
How this writer can conclude that Hillary Clinton crushed Donald Trump among voters who cared most about experience, judgment and temperament I find somewhat mystifying since those voters are unknown when there is a secret ballot and moreover this statement is nothing more than a slander and attack on the American citizens who voted for Mr. Trump and a conclusion that they are stupid and unknowing.
I must remind this Time Magazine writer that the disciples of Christ were fisherman and St. Paul a tent maker. Within 400 years these underclass persons transformed the thinking of the known world. The last sentence that Mr. Trump is a demagogue and has fed on fears is slander and not factual when the truth of the matter is that the people of this country concluded that Donald Trump was none of those things but instead was needed to address properly and to represent the interests of the people of this country who this writer concludes are stupid when they are in fact uniquely qualified under our system to make the kind of judgments about security and jobs that they have made.
