Who: John “The Builder” Malecki

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, John Malecki, attended the University of Pittsburgh on a full scholarship and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. Having dreamt of playing in the NFL since childhood, John signed a futures contract with the Tennessee Titans and then bounced around a few NFL teams before being picked up by his hometown Pittsburgh Steelers for whom he lived out his dream for two years.

After completing his NFL career, John began tackling DIY woodworking projects in his spare time and developed a deep passion for the hobby. Acquiring more tools and working out of his buddy’s garage, he had found a new passion ~ building a life as a builder, and he hasn’t looked back since. And now he pays homage to the Steel City as a builder in the neighborhood of Braddock.
