The Democrats Seem Ready to Violate the Constitution to Retain Power

I’m definitely a Trump supporter, and I do think President Biden’s withdrawal is inevitable, but believe it should be within the rules of the Constitution, not the unconstitutional power grab being orchestrated by his oldest, and up-to-now, most loyal friends-Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. Their efforts are what is known as “Defenestration” (a term dating back to the 17th Century meaning throwing a politician out the window.) For example, in Bolivia (where I was military attache, and that country was the subject of my MA thesis) in a 1946 Coup, the President was not only thrown out of a window of the Presidential Palace, he was then hanged from a lamp post. The Democrats approach to Biden is more gentle.

There are reports that Biden is understandably angry and bitter at this betrayal by his old friends. He should also be aware how unconstitutional is the idea being considered by these party leaders-holding a “mini primary” of perhaps ten possible replacements that, while including Vice President Harris, is an effort to have a fresh face, not hers which is so identified with the disastrous Biden policies. This is a clear violation of the Constitution which states that if a President leaves office for any reason, or dies, the Vice President immediately assumes office.

So here is my face-saving and Constitutional idea for President Biden. When he and his family decide it is time to leave, he requests Chief Justice Roberts to come to the White House with no fanfare. The media are alerted that President Biden will make an important announcement. With the television cameras present, and perhaps Chief Justice Roberts off-stage, but with Vice President Harris beside him, President, Biden makes his dramatic announcement. He says he has decided to step down, and turn the responsibilities of the presidency over to his Vice President. Chief Justice Roberts then administers the Presidential Oath of Office to the VP.

This allows Biden to leave on his own terms and turn the tables on his disloyal friends. It’s almost Shakespearian, and that’s quite fitting, as Democrats and Never Trumpers are now comparing Trump to Ceaser. In effect, Biden is saying to Obama, Schumer, Pelosi and other turncoats, Et Tu Brute. And Trump has the target-rich Kamala and the Biden policy with which she is so identified in his sights for November.
