In her new memoir, Southern Vapors, Garson shares the intimate and raw details from her heiress-in-waiting childhood through detours at rehab facilities and less traditional ‘cures’ in her fight to vanquish her personal demons and take control of her life. Growing up in nothing less than the lap of Southern luxury, Garson candidly details her travels around the world, facing the early stages of an eating disorder and being raised by a member of the mansion’s help. She later explores, with humor, the stages of her life from college and law school to careers, marriage, motherhood and time in a low-income mental institution due to her struggles with anxiety and depression. 

Thanks to her openness, Southern Vapors provides a look into experiences many others are not willing to discuss.

Lynn Garson, a lawyer at a prestigious Atlanta law firm, has lived a varied life. From her Tara-esque childhood and struggles with eating disorders and depression to her successful careers as a luxury retailer and lawyer, her divorce and her experiences as a single mother, she shares each of these experiences with unflinching honesty and humor in her new memoir, Southern Vapors. Garson graduated from Tulane University with a degree in art history and holds a law degree from Emory University School of Law. She has lived in Paris, New York and Hong Kong and currently resides in Atlanta.
