I have been so very busy lately. I had two books exhibited at the recent Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, my latest published book TORTOISE SHELL as well as the play ANZAC the PLAY. (Ask her what these are all about)
The most recently published book TORTOISE SHELL is about early Australian pioneers (it was taken from a story of my great grandfather) and the morals and values they held which were also exhibited by their grandchildren who ended up fighting in the Great War that began in 1914 (evidently one of her favorite subjects deals with the nation of Australia–how come?)
I am also having my book SCIENCE & SPIRITUALITY reprinted so that it will cost less to buy than it does now and it will have a few revisions I co-edited this book with my colleague Rev. Leland Stewart who just passed away recently. (What was it like working
with a genius like Stewart?)
This talks about how all the religions of the world as well as scientists, philosophers and mystics, share the common bond of humanity and the accepted morals over the centuries of reverence for life and caring for each other . However in this book we also talk about money and the GOD OF MONEY and how allegiance to the GOD OF MONEY which means choosing money over choosing caring for people has taken hold of so many people in the world today and so many people are suffering from it.
This discussion about money was also taken up as you know in THERE ARE NO ENEMIES (refesh us on this book, the selling points).
In these troubled times it does seem that money is very much involved particularly the scarcity of it for so many people who find themselves homeless.
There are ways to improve this and I am working on a new book which stresses how IMPORTANT it is for INDIVIDUAL PEOPLE to take charge of their own lives and PARTICIPATE in everything they can to take care of other people and the planet and help even in the smallest way to regain the great moral high ground that is the hallmark of this great country we call the United States of America.
Thanks, James, for for inviting me…ask about her public speaking gigs in So. Calif..and about her love for poetry…and what tips she has
for new struggling writers.
Sincerely,
Mary Mann, now Rev. Mary Mann, Ph.D.
