HGTV lifestyle and design expert Kelly Edwards offers mid-winter home makeover tips to brighten up and beat the blues

WHAT: The holidays are well in the past, and spring is a ways to come. As we fend off the mid-winter blues and dream of longer days and warmer weather, this is the perfect time to talk tips on how to lighten and brighten your home environment. Known for hosting HGTV’s “Design on a Dime” and recently seen on OWN’s “Home Made Simple” and Hallmark Channel’s “Home and Family TV”, lifestyle and design expert Kelly Edwards is on hand to provide her prized tips and tricks for a mid-winter makeover.

From cleaning tips to design advice, Kelly will share the following:

· Laundry Room Revamp – There are easy ways to revamp your laundry room, creating a room that’s actually functional in time for spring cleaning season. Tips will include ditching that old washer/dryer for a more powerful, efficient set, organizational hacks and storage ideas.

· Color & Comfort – Splashes of color can easily transform a space and lift the mid-winter mood. Whether it be a selection of throw pillows, a comfortable throw blanket or some gorgeous fresh flowers…

· All About Accessories – Whether it be a ton of color, or simple black and white accents – many types of accessories are hot this season, along with wood elements… they cozy up the space while keeping it classic and clean.

Kelly Edwards was the co-host and design coordinator for HGTV’s “Design on a Dime” as well as STYLE Network’s “Tacky House”. In addition to being seen weekly on television, Kelly can also be seen as the segment host and home decorating expert for The Design Network where she offers online visitors her trade secrets and unique approach to design. The celebrity designer has been offering dwellers with decorating dilemmas, distinctive design tips, bargain-decorating projects, and total home makeover transformations inspired by personal style and popular trends. Kelly is well known for her knack in re-purposing everyday items into extraordinary collectibles, refurbishing unique home accessories, and crafting recipes for creative cleaning solutions.

Most recently Kelly has been seen on OWN’s “Home Made Simple and Hallmarks “Home and Family TV. She has been deemed over the airwaves as the “MacGyver of Design”, thanks to her amazing ability to turn a simple space into an innovative interior with only a $1,000 budget. Not just another designing diva, this former teen beauty queen is also a do-it-yourself darling with passion for all things self-created from fabrics to fashions to foods. Her book “Design Cookbook, Recipes for a Stylish Home has also topped Amazon’s best sellers list.
