What and Who: Home prices are already on the rise this year, according to Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller 20-city home price index. Home values rose in all of the 20 cities surveyed, which combined account for almost half of all of the housing stock in this country. So while this may be welcomed news for the home seller, for the buyer it may represent the need to stretch their budget further or trim their amenity wish list as they search homes.
