(Durham, N.C.) We live in a world full of misconceptions and misjudgments, two legitimate factors involving a person’s way of life. The grim reality of these factors is how they contribute to what public perception may be and if it is warranted. Sometimes one tends to over think situations instead of focusing on the truth of circumstance. Therefore, these misnomers allow us to think in a different light and sometimes even agreeing with what is being communicated.

In “Brains Over Body,” the subjects of self righteousness and self belief are tested to the limits of acceptance. What do our beliefs do for our self esteem and confidence? Do we listen to the majority or go with intuition?

The story of a young female college student doing what she feels is necessary to move forward with her collegiate career helps us relate with the above statements. This story has many implications on today’s female youth. How this decision impacted her life is one that resonates deep in society and may make the next young woman question this path if it presents itself.
