About Stacey McDaniel
Stacey McDaniel is the Technical Advisor, Food and Nutrition Support Program at the YMCA of the USA (Y-USA). Since 2013, she has worked to grow and enhance the efforts of the Y in ending child hunger, offering assistance and guidance to local Ys to strengthen child nutrition programs across the country. McDaniel collaborates with national partners to better address childhood food insecurity, and implements innovative meal program ideas/models across the Y national movement to help better address youth hunger in local communities. During her tenure as Technical Advisor, Food and Nutrition Support Program, the Y has expanded its anti-hunger work. Last year alone the Y doubled its impact, serving nearly 400,000 kids more than 13 million meals!
Stacey joined the Y Movement in 2009. In that time, she has become an expert in implementing nutrition and food service programs and negotiating the details of nutrition service policies. At the Tiftarea YMCA in Tifton, Georgia, Stacey led one of the most recognized community nutrition programs. Under her leadership, the Tiftarea YMCA addressed child hunger and facilitated efforts of more than 105 community organizations and groups of volunteers in two counties to provide summer programs and serve approximately 53,000 meals to 1,763 children. Further, Stacey successfully developed, launched and managed Kids’ University, a unique afterschool enrichment program, offered at all primary and elementary schools in Tift county and Turner county. The Georgia Chapter of the Association of YMCA Professionals awarded Kids’ University with the Program Innovation award.
Stacey is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She also received a Master of Science in Management from Troy University.
