Susan Moss was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1944. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts with Honors from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1966. During 1967, she temporarily worked as a college art instructor and entered a graduate program at Otis Art Institute where she graduated in 1970. A series of health and life obstacles have stood in Moss’s path, only to be overcome with a new series of work. Her boldly experimentative works are frequently inspired by personal or familial history and experimentation with light, texture, and color.
Moss’s paintings and drawings are held by public and private collections around the world, including Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Skirball Museum, Laguna Art Museum, and the Robert Rowan Collection. She was featured in the Getty publication, “LA RISING: SOCAL Artists Before 1980.”
