Brussels, which as home to the European Union and NATO serves as the political capital of Europe, was hit by deadly attacks at the airport and at a metro station. The attacks reportedly killed at least 30 people and injured more than 200.

The brutal attacks by Islamic State terrorists in Brussels and even more deadly attacks in Paris in November will roil Europe politically and culturally for years to come. But Americans must not overreact — and must appreciate that we are in a fundamentally different and safer position than many Europeans. Still, protection against Terror will always be on mind of America.

Now that the dust has settled in these attacks, what is being done to ensure they do not happen again? Is it possible to guarantee something of that nature? How will these attacks affect the world for years to come?

Dr. Anne Speckhard, World Renowned Expert on the Psychology of Terrorism has interviewed nearly five hundred terrorists and also survivors of terror attacks and hostage takings. She is currently interviewing ISIS defectors and developing a counter-terrorism program to fight ISIS in the social media space.
