Co-author Beliles is a pastor in Jefferson’s home town of Charlottesville, Virginia. He has spent much of his career studying the life and faith of Thomas Jefferson, discovering little known facts revealed in this book. As the book shares, he has come to this conclusion: “Jefferson’s religion is revealed most accurately when not only his letters but also his relationships and activities with religious communities are studied together” (P. 3).

About the Authors

Dr. Jerry Newcombe has appeared on numerous talk shows including Fox News Channel, Fox Business Channel, “Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher” (4x), C-Span2’s “Book Notes,” Janet Parshall’s America, Point of View, Moody Radio Network and more! He is the author/co-author of twenty-four books including bestsellers George Washington’s Sacred Fire (with Dr. Peter Lillback) and What If Jesus Had Never Been Born? (with Dr. Kennedy). Newcombe serves as a co-host, columnist and spokesperson for D. James Kennedy Ministries, where he produces/co-produces more than 60 one hour television specials that have aired nationwide. Newcombe also hosts a weekly talk radio program on “GraceFM.” He is happily married with two children and two grandchildren, and resides in South Florida.

Dr. Mark A. Beliles is a popular speaker and cultural leadership coach who has traveled to over 50 countries and addressed parliaments and high-level leaders of nations on the topic of faith and freedom. He founded the Providence Foundation in 1983. Beliles is editor of The Selected Religious Letters and Papers of Thomas Jefferson (America Publications, 2013) that included over 50 Jefferson letters never before seen in print! He has a Ph.D. from Whitefield Theological Seminary who has organized, with sponsorship of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, several scholarly symposiums held at the University of Virginia on Jefferson and religion. Each featured dozens of nationally-known Jefferson scholars and church and state historians. He has contributed to volumes of collected essays such as Religion and Political Culture in Jefferson’s Virginia (Rowman and Littlefield Publishers, 2000). He resides in Jefferson’s hometown where he has served for many years as Chairman of the Charlottesville Historic Resources Committee and co-chairman of the city’s 250th Anniversary observed in 2012. He has spent much of his career studying the life and faith of Thomas Jefferson, discovering little known facts revealed in this book. He and his wife Nancy have three children and five grandchildren.
