Meet Marylee MacDonald
Marylee MacDonald is a distinguished writer, caregiving crusader, former carpenter, mother of five, and widow. She is the award-winning Author of Montpelier Tomorrow and a short story collection, Bonds of Love & Blood.
Marylee’s short stories have won her the following awards….
The Barry Hannah Prize, the Ron Rash Award, the Jeanne M. Leiby Chapbook Award, the ALR Fiction Prize, and the Matt Clark Prize.
Montpelier Tomorrow won a Gold Medal for Drama from the Readers’ Favorites International Book Awards, and it was a finalist for the Bellwether Prize, the Next Generation INDIE Book Awards, and the Eric Hoffer Prize.
Her short stories have been published in American Literary Review, Bellevue Literary Review, Folio, Four Quarters, New Delta Review, North Atlantic Review, Ruminate, StoryQuarterly, Superstition Review, The Briar Cliff Review, The Chattahoochee Review, and the Yalobusha Review.
MaryIee has a Master’s in English/Creative Writing from San Francisco State University and a Certificate in Novel Writing from Stanford’s School of Continuing Education. Aside from her writing, she has led workshops and taught classes on writing fiction, literary editing, writing memoirs, and issues of work-life balance.
