ABOUT DAVID’S AFGHAN SERVICE
  • Served in Afghanistan 2005-2006 
  • Rank at the time was Major 
  • Unit 160th Theater Signal  
  • Awarded Bronze Star for supporting combat operations 
  • Responsible for all religious support throughout Afghanistan wherever 
  • 160th Soldiers were deployed throughout the Area of Operations (literally all over the country) 
  • I traveled more extensively in Afghanistan than the majority officers and Soldiers, hence I observed many actions that were not seen by most. I was the forward eyes and ears for the Command. 
  • I was involved in operations to bring needed items (clothes, food, etc.) to the Pashtun tribal leaders in Southeast Afghanistan 
  • Involved in many operational leadership strategic sessions held by key leaders 
  • Conducted training events in Bagram Air Base for suicide prevention, leadership development, physical fitness, Noncombatant Evacuation Operations (NEO). 
  • Conducted numerous religious services, counseling, wounded care, etc,
